A fabulously simple and tasty Burmese curry for those of us that love prawns.
The Ingredients
- 3-4 green chillies, roughly chopped
- 14oz raw prawns
- 1 large onion
- 4 garlice cloves
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 4 tbsp mustard oil, ground-nut oil or olive oil
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves
- 4 tomatoes cut in half
- 1 cup of water
- salt and pepper to taste
The Recipe
- Grind (or blend with a little water) the onion and garlic cloves to a paste and bring it to a gentle boil in the oil.
- Add the turmeric , salt and pepper to taste, to the oil and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the prawns , fish sauce , coriander leaves , chillies and tomatoes .
- Add the water and simmer until the prawns are cooked through and the sauce has been thickened.
Serve with rice and maybe some cool bombay potatoes.
